COLONEL RUSSELL D. GULLETT

The Colonel Russell D. Gullett Scholarship for Leadership and Service

The Colonel Russell D. Gullett Scholarship for Leadership and Service is presented annually to current members of the National Guard Association of Michigan who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and service.  The scholarship is named after COL Gullett to honor his example and legacy of leadership and service; a career spanning five decades of dedicated leadership and service to the Michigan National Guard, Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, the National Guard Association of Michigan, and all of the Soldiers, Airmen, and families that each organization supports.  COL Gullett is a Life Member of NGAM and was a member of the NGAM Board of Directors for nearly fifty years.

The scholarship recognizes some of the best and brightest in our formations; those ready to advance the interests of the Michigan National Guard, promoting its members, families, and partners.  The awardees demonstrate the ability to stand out amongst their peers, able to tell the story of the Guard in a way that advocates for all Guardsmen.  Each year, winners are selected by the NGAM Scholarship Committee and awarded based on the total number of applicants and contributions available to the program.  The scholarship is a cash award for any annual or life member of NGAM that is furthering their education or developing professional skills.

Applications must be completed and returned by 1 May.  Winners will be presented their award at the NGAM Annual Conference and General Membership Meeting.
