Colonel J. Andrew Roberts, President of the National Guard Association of Michigan (NGAM), and the Board of Directors of NGAM congratulates Major General Michael A. Stone on his recent promotion. Stone will command the 46th MP Command and is one of the elite few to be promoted to major general, a two-star general-officer rank. MG Stone was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on June 22, 2017.
MG Stone holds a BA from the University of Detroit, MS from the U.S. Army War College, and a JD from the Detroit College of Law (now MSU School of Law).
MG Stone has deployed three times, serving in Iraq during Operation Desert Storm, Operation Joint Endeavor, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
“MG Stone’s promotion is a well-deserved honor and one his NGAM family is very proud of,” Colonel Roberts stated.
