Minutes for NGAM Executive Board Meeting: 1600 hrs 25 March 2010 @ Room 206 Reserve Forces Support Center, 3423 North M. L. King Blvd, Lansing

Meeting Called to Order at 1603 hrs by Executive Director Ewald, past President Halt attending and presiding via audio conference. Completed the Pledge of Allegiance to Flag

1. Roll Call:
1.1. Officers: Absent: President Weigel, Vice President Cooper and Treasurer Marschall.
1.2. EB members absent: CW4 Stone, Army Aviation rep; MAJ Brown, Joint Staff rep., LTC Doolittle 177th MP Bde rep; CW3 Slater, R & R Cmd rep;

1.3. Introduction of guests & new EB Members: CPT Caverly attended as the 63rd Bde rep.

2. Reports:
2.1. Secretary’s Report: Minutes of EB meeting for 25 February 2010 were distributed and reviewed. Motion made by Dalton with second by Trimmer to approve minutes as written. Voice vote carried.

2.2. Treasurer’s Report: Copies of financial status as of 28 February and check account as of 25 March were distributed and reviewed. Motion made by Gust with second by Husband to approve as written. Voice vote carried.

3. Old Business:

3.1 ED Ewald reported on his 2-3 March trip to Washington D.C. with TAG for legislative meetings with Michigan Senators and Representatives. Meetings were well received by the elected officials and staffs. Cost was within budgeted lines as approved during the February EB meeting.

3.2. ED Ewald reported on his 20 March NGAM briefing to Company I (Fort Custer) of the Army Recruiting Program. Briefing was successful and 26 new SSLI No Cost $10K policies were accomplished.

3.3 ED Ewald reported the NGAUS “Early Bird” dues, which will be sent to NGAUS Hqs on 29 March. Check will be more than $20K, which represents a 40% increase from the 2009 “Early Birds” dues. NGAM will earn 5% ($1100.00+) as a rebate.

3.4 ED Ewald reported on the status of the NGAM 2010 Conference registrations and reminded the EB of the planned visit by the Air and Army Chiefs of Staff to the Resort on 12 April in anticipation of the plan to combine the 2011 Army and Air Leadership conference with the NGAM conference.

3.5 ED Ewald reported on the status of the NGAM Conference ad book.

4. New Business:

4.1. ED Ewald nominated Executive Board member CCMSgt Mike Dalton for NGAM President for 2011. Dalton accepted. This action is permitted by the new NGAM By-Laws which were approved in December 2009 and resolved the current situation caused by the deployment of our elected VP MAJ Cooper until May 2011. Chief Dalton will be presented to the NGAM members assembled for the 54th annual business meeting.

4.2. ED Ewald reported on the NGAM Website and requested permission to populate the Website homepage with Corporate Partners in Patriotism URLs. There was a motion by Marshall with second by Botkin to approve. Voice vote carried. Ewald will have the homepage completed in an appropriate manner.

4.4 ED Ewald reported on the NGAM Conference dinner entre options. Discussion followed and it was agreed that costs should be no more than $35 per attendee, even if this meant NGAM paying more for the dinner (losing money).

5. Good of the NGAM:

5.1 Trimmer reminded the EB members hat he is still in need of volunteers to assist with the Golf outing. Ewald is also seeking a volunteer photographer.

6. Next NGAM Executive Board Meeting: The meeting adjourned at 1705 hrs.
The next EB meeting will be on 22 April 2010 @ 1600 hrs in room 206 of the RFSC, Lansing.
