Executive Board Meeting Minutes for NGAM EB Meeting 21 Jan 10

Minutes of the NGAM Executive Board Meeting: 1600 hrs 21 January 2010 @ Room 206 Reserve Forces Support Center, 3423 North M. L. King Blvd, Lansing

Meeting called to order at 1705 hrs by Executive Director Ewald in the absence of President Weigel and VP Cooper. Quorum of EB members was present. Pledge of Allegiance to Flag conducted.

1. Roll Call:

1.1. Officers: Absent: President Weigel and VP Cooper; note that the VP joined the meeting via audio conference option at 1720hrs.
1.2. EB members absent: Brig Gen (Ret) Heaton, retired Air rep; CW2 Harding, CGMTC rep; Maj Botkin, ACRTC rep; LTC Nadrasik FCTS rep, LTC Doolittle 177 MP Bde rep, 1SG Kik 177 RTI rep.
1.3. Introduction of guests & new EB Members: MSgt Buehner and SSgt May of the
110th NGAM Committee attended via audio conference.

2. Reports:

2.1. Secretary’s Report: The minutes of the EB meeting of 21 January 2010 were distributed and reviewed. It was motioned by Francisco to approve with second by Halt. Voice vote carried.
2.2. Treasurer’s Report: The Treasurer distributed the financial status as of 21 January. It was reviewed followed by a motion from Trimmer with second by Gust to approve. Voice vote carried.

3. Old Business:

3.1 ED Ewald reminded the EB members of need for Executive Board Secretary and candidates for Vice President.
3.2. ED Ewald reported that he will attend the NG Executive Directors’ Association (NGEDA) Conference during the last week of January (27 thru 30) 2010 which will be in Austin, Texas, the site of the 2010 NGAUS Conference.
3.3 NGAM provided a $ 500 donation to the Joint NCO Conf, which will be conducted on 6 February at the Amway Hotel, Grand Rapids. ED Ewald will attend and provide NGAM literature and answer questions.

4. New Business:

4.1. ED Ewald reported that the NGAM 2010 Conference registrations (NGAM members and Corporate Sponsors) are now on the NGAM Website. The Conference will be conducted at the Eagle Crest Marriott Resort on 14-16 May. Rooms will cost $ 121.00 (includes taxes).
4.2. ED Ewald reported that he has been asked by TAG to travel to Washington D.C. on 2-4 March in order to accompany him and Steve Kozera as they meet with and brief the Michigan Congressional delegation regarding Michigan Military Construction and Procurement. Discussion followed regarding the cost and the fact that such a trip has not been budgeted in the 2010 NGAM budget. BG Francisco will discuss this matter with TAG. Matter tabled until February EB meeting.
4.3 ED Ewald reported on his scheduled NGAM briefings to Co L (Grayling) of the Army Recruit Sustainment Program on 20 February.

5. Good of the NGAM: 5.1 Francisco discussed the status of Army NGAM dues collections.

5.2 Trimmer discussed the exposure of the NGAM Educational Grants to dependants. Ewald informed the EB that NGAM currently receives more that the minimum number of applications for the limited number of NGAM Grants.

6. Next NGAM Executive Board Meeting: The meeting adjourned at 1700 hrs. The next EB meeting will be on 25 February 2010 @ 1600 hrs in room 206 of the RFSC, Lansing.
